Verbal description Benefits

Under general superintendence, supervise, review, bear and register birth and death vital statistics documents originating in Merced County and submitted to County Health Section. Serve as the County Health Department's morbidity clerk to receive and survey every last reports of state mandated notifiable diseases. Assure that all documents come across the State requirement and do former consanguine duties, as assigned.

This classification in the County Health Department accepts and certifies as priggish and correct documents relating to the Birth and Death Certificates. Incumbents in this classification are responsible for a complete and accurate copy of each certificate accepted for enrolment and act as the local deputy registrar for the State Registrar. Incumbents in that categorization are responsible for receiving and acting the initial review of all reports related to state mandated notifiable disease/condition reportage. This position ensures completeness of the stripped-down needed close individualized and medical information for all sheath reports from different reportage sources and utilizes dedicated software programs to enter all reportable cases; maintains data systems; and provides body support to special programs.

Examples of Duties:
Duties may include, only are not limited to the following:

  • Review and process birth certificates by checking for accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Contact the hospital's Medical Records Unit to confirm questionable entries.
  • Review and physical process last certificates and fetal dying certificates and issues burial permits.
  • Assures that the Medical examiner's Office is aware of all reported cases.
  • Issue certified copies of birth/destruction certificates to the public, county agencies and mortuaries.
  • Answer questions from mortuaries, and general public on vital statistics information.
  • Work birth and destruction certificates amendments and birth waterproofing notices.
  • Process death certificates filed in another county with burial in Merced County.
  • Sound morbidity reportage and other health statistics.
  • Research and resolve questions relating to death and birth certificates, and notifiable diseases, with the State Registrar Office, and say and local County departments, hospitals, clinics, and mortuaries.
  • Provide administrative support to public health/emergency preparedness cognate special projects
  • Receive and review all notifiable disease reports; assist in conducting assessments and surveys.
  • Maintain Hepatitis C reports and convey initial screening investigation
  • Develop graphics for presentations and studies
  • Make complex spreadsheets, report formats, forms and record maintenance systems
  • Serve as a County Health Section system administrator, trainer, and key exploiter of various public wellness/hand brake preparedness related state and local software and web-based systems.
  • Assist in surge capacity related activities involved with mass vaccination clinics.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:

One (1) year of full time experience performing fiscal Beaver State statistical office support work.
