I took inexpensive, bright blue plastic bins from the dollar store and gave them a consummate makeover using spray paint and vinyl decals. They're going to be so cute in our baby boy'south nursery!
Not only is this plastic bin makeover super affordable, merely it's as well a fairly quick Cricut project thanks to my Cricut Joy. This project started with these cheap plastic $1 bins from the dollar shop (and you lot tin pretty much always detect them at the thrift store, also).
With a tin can of spray paint and a roll of Cricut vinyl, I turned those inexpensive plastic bins into modernistic storage bins for the nursery. I used a hammered paint that makes them await like metal (read: much more expensive). And the white vinyl decals are so fun and playful, don't y'all think?

ane. Pigment Your Plastic Bins
Spray paint your plastic containers in a well-ventilated area with a drib cloth or paper-thin to protect the ground/workspace. I used this hammered black spray pigment that gave my bins a cool hammered metal wait.
Follow the instructions on your spray paint can. My bins took two coats to get full coverage. 6. WEED YOUR VINYL Design
Next, weed the excess vinyl abroad from your design. I more often than not use my fingers to weed, but the weeding tool comes in handy for the tiny pieces.
8. TRANSFER YOUR Decals onto your bins
I transferred each decal individually. For the letters and numbers, I was able to just use my fingers to transfer and stick onto the bin similar you would a regular sticker (no transfer tape needed).
I definitely recommend using shapes that are hands transferred with your hands, because I used transfer tape for the transportation icons and at that place were a couple of piddling spots where the transfer tape pulled up a bit of the spray paint. It was pretty pocket-size, but something to keep in mind! If yous use transfer tape, have care to slowly lift the tape and make certain the vinyl is stuck down well (I call up my spray paint pulled up when the white vinyl lifted up considering it wasn't stuck downward well enough.
